-- Reaching the Elderly in Their Need --
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
This outreach project consists of visiting an elderly person on a regular basis. Some elderly people can no longer see to read their mail or the Bible, but most of them are lonely and just need a regular visitor. Our plan is to find people who would appreciate visitors and match them up with anyone who signs up for this project. We will give you the person’s name and from then on, this is an individual project. After the first meeting, you and your new friend will set up the future visiting schedule. Remember, these are older people and it may require some effort and dedication to maintain a schedule and build a relationship. This is an individual project that will be very flexible to meet your time schedule. This is an excellent opportunity to encourage the afflicted and even possibly bring some souls to the Lord. You are, by no means, restricted to only visiting the one person that we give you. This project is designed to help motivate and make it convenient for people to visit nursing homes if they feel a burden on their heart to do so. Perhaps, you’ll gain several friendships and fellowships out of your visits to the nursing home. There are enough elderly to visit that everyone who wants to sign up will be able to be used for God's work.
